Egyptian Women: A Story of Building and Giving

Mrs. Entissar El-Sisi: A Humanitarian Message Affirming the Greatness of Egyptian Women and Their Civic Role

Mrs. Entissar El-Sisi, wife of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, expressed her delight at meeting her sons and daughters, the volunteers of the Egyptian Red Crescent, during her participation in monitoring the arrival of one million tons of humanitarian and relief aid sent to the Gaza Strip via Egypt. This event embodies Egypt’s unwavering commitment to supporting its brothers and sisters and alleviating their suffering.

The First Lady emphasized that this significant humanitarian achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of those who extended a helping hand and devoted their time and effort to serving humanity. She expressed her appreciation for every volunteer and worker who contributed to delivering aid to those in need, affirming that the values of solidarity and compassion are an integral part of the Egyptian character.

In this context, the pivotal role of Egyptian women stands out. Since the dawn of history, they have been essential partners in building Egyptian civilization and creating its glories. Even before humanity knew the modern nation-state, Egyptian women were present in all aspects of life, contributing to the nation’s development and building, participating in decision-making processes, and maintaining social stability.

Ancient Egyptian history, on the walls of its temples and monuments, has preserved timeless testimonies affirming the high status enjoyed by Egyptian women and their influential role in the course of human civilization. Today, this bright image is renewed through pioneering women who continue to contribute in various fields, including humanitarian and volunteer work, embodying the highest ideals of national responsibility.

The active presence of Egyptian women in the world of work, development, and volunteering that we witness today confirms that they were and remain one of the fundamental pillars of Egyptian civilization, a cornerstone of its soft power, and an indispensable partner in shaping the nation’s present and future, perpetuating a rich historical legacy recorded in the annals of history and immortalized in the memory of humanity.
