– Jan Suberman :

Good evening Dmitry,

I was under the impression we were already connected with you for many and many years.

It’s an absolute pleasure, I find your work and your Photography Priceless.

I have been following your work for quite some time; and may I add, you never cease to amaze me with your prolific Photography. Your camera lens is very lucky to look through your eyes and see such fabulous detail in each of your Photos.

You certainly are well trained in Photography. You definitely know the Secret to Great Photography; your wondrous Subject matter. You remain a vision, in which we are privy to your viewpoint. Continue to share your rare and creative Photographs,as you are so very deserving, throughout the European World, as a First Class Photographic Artist! How fortunate they are, to actually stand and view your magnificent work, in person.

To feel the emphasis of each image all over Europe. I am so very pleased with your Success ! I do admire your work , and always have many questions, you are so much more than a Photographer ! Your brilliance comes out of the “ shadows” as you have mentioned.

– Dmitry Savchenko :

Good evening Jan, Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m very grateful for your attention and certainly, your opinion is very important for me,

I would like to say, – it’s an honor to hear high appreciation from such a respected person

and a great specialist in the field of art, research and documentation of artists and collections, as you. Thank you Jan.I hope that we will continue our cooperation in different directions in the United States and Europe.

– Jan Suberman :

Dear friends, Dmitry Savchenko is a most prolific Artist in the Field of Photography.

His magnificent photographic images of various scenes, from the many European countries, in which his Art has taken him. As he begins to pose a view from the lens of his camera,

he takes light, and the shadows into consideration, in which create images, that are truly spectacular !

Through the Vision he creates, using light and shadows, within his Black and White Series of images ,that are absolutely breathtaking ! I only wish, I could see through his eyes, into the lens of his camera, in which he captures his brilliance of true poetry without words.

He truly has such a gift, in his eyes, as he is able to see the result of his splendor, of an image, before, this photographic image, has made it on to the Glossy Paper, of his Creation from the lens, in which he views, his subject matter, through the eye of his camera.

His works are so beautifully created, using only his camera and his subject matter. He is a most spectacular, Professional Photographer, living in our time, and producing magnificent works of Artist values without a brush or paints; for his canvas is his camera

and the inspiration surroundings Dmitry.

– Dmitry Savchenko :

Thanks again, dear Jan. That’s very kind of you ! I greatly appreciate your support and assistance. For me, as a person who has lived with photography all my creative life, it is very difficult to describe everything in a few words. It’s a road without end. This is infinity. If you love Photography all your life, and if Photography loves you mutually, – there is no limit to perfection in knowledge and skill. Every day you find something new. Photography is connected with Light and Shadow.

No one can fully understand, explore, recognize Light and Shadow ….

-Jan Suberman :

Dmitry, you are always contacting with artists, painters !

Which artist inspires you?

– Dmitry Savchenko :

Caravaggio. Full name is : Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio ( 1571 – 1610 ).

An artistic genius, Italian painter with a dramatic use of Light and Shadow,

one of the most brilliant Italian painters of his generation, worked in his artistic life mostly in Rome, also in young years in Milan, and after Rome in Naples, Malta and Sicily.

He was a contemporary of such people as Giordano Bruno, Jan Bruegel, Giacomo della Porta, cardinal Francesco del Monte, Giambattista Marino, Galileo Galilei, Tommaso Campanella and according to many historical sources he was familiar with them in different periods of time.

Caravaggio had a very difficult and not easy life, but I was strongly influenced by his work with Light and Shadow. In a few words, the transition between light to dark is very very small and this is really very important to me in photography.

I also admire his religious works, such as The Martyrdom of Saint Matthew, The Calling of Saint Matthew, The Beheading of Saint John the Baptist, The Raising of Lazarus and many others.

-Jan Suberman :

Thank you, Dmitry. And in our time ?

What was the most memorable meeting for you with the painters of our days ?

– Dmitry Savchenko :

Probably 15 years ago in California, I met one of the greatest artists of our generation,

Don Bachardy ( born May 18, 1934 ).

Don Bachardy drew Jack Nicholson and Angelina Jolie and many other celebrities.

His work resides in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the M.H. de Young Museum of Art in San Francisco, the University of Texas,

Henry E. Huntington Library and Art Gallery, San Marino, California, the University of California at Los Angeles, the Fogg Art Museum of Harvard University, Princeton University, the California State Capitol Building (official portrait of Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr.), the Smithsonian Institution, and the National Portrait Gallery in London, England.

In Santa Monica, we created portraits for us in a friendly way,

Master Don Bachardy drew 3 of my portraits, and I created a series of portraits of great Maestro Don Bachardy for a long and long memory.

-Jan Suberman :

Dmitry, your photographic images capture the essence in which you are the viewer and we have a look through your eyes and especially the Lens of your fabulous camera.

The images make my heart sing. Just as your photography speaks volumes,

it makes a lasting impression on the viewer. It is always so wonderful to see your Art posted for the beauty you find in each photograph.

Did you have a mentor ? How old were you when you started getting noticed for your art in photography ?

– Dmitry Savchenko :

I consider Los Angeles to be the birthplace of my birth as an artist ….

Many, many years ago, a wise gallery owner from 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica said to me:

” My young friend, you’re one of the few people with whom Light and Shadow talk to.

Please make and bring me your artworks with Light and Shadow that may attract attention 50 … 100…..150 years….Only Light and Shadow are infinite in Time. “

Unfortunately, this person is no longer in our world…. Unfortunately….

But his words do always live in my memory. This was the first serious conversation with me as an artist….

Please, you can see my artwork with the title ” Shadow Queen. San Diego ” from the series “Power of magnetism “, made with my dearest and very unusual friend Vanessa.

– Jan Suberman :

Ah… the rain allows the viewer an opportunity to actually “ see the vision “ of the Photographer, as he takes his subject into the beautiful surrounding area of beauty, through this magnificent rainy day in Geneva. Absolutely Priceless, photographic image of this wonderful message from the Photographer along with his subject matter enjoying the rainy day . Exceptional! Your photographic image is ever so enticing for that romantic moment,

as it warrants a bit of beauty outside to see the rain through this vision of loveliness.

A rainy day, is the perfect day in which to snuggle and watch the rain appear through your windows. Ah, the evening light as it reflects the surface of the “ Tube”, in a most powerful manner of Photographic intent.

It is purely in its own form, by the Artist, to show the colours that
